Low-Cost Ideas to Spruce up Your Backyard

Summer is quickly approaching which means, it’s the perfect time to spruce up your backyard patio! Here are some low-budget backyard ideas:
ty

1. Repaint Old Furniture – Instead of going out and purchasing new patio furniture, which can be expensive, just repaint what you already own! You can choose from many colors that fit your personality and make a bold statement on your patio! Another idea is to add colorful cushions to your chairs and benches.

2. Lighting – This trend is still continuing to be popular in backyards. Adding lighting adds a warm glow that looks great at night. You can re-use your string lights from Christmas or lanterns, both are fairly cheap. If you have a smaller backyard area, candles in hurricane lamps work well too! You can even add pebbles or rocks to the bottom of the lamps for extra decoration.

3. Outdoor Rugs – You can buy outdoor rugs that are made to withstand bad weather and all the traffic your patio has through the year. They come in all sorts of sizes and colors that would make a bold statement on your patio/deck. A rug can go under your tables or chairs for extra color.

4. Table tops – Instead of purchasing fancy outdoor tables for your sitting area, which might costs you a good amount of money, you can buy a cheap wicker table (or use one you already have) and add your own personal touch to the top. Some examples are adding glass on top to give it a modern feel, or you can put a colorful tray on top and add accents on top of that.

5. Low Maintenance Plants – Instead of planting flowers and plants that you constantly have to take care of, plant some that are super low-maintenance and are native to your area. This way you don’t have to worry about them dying in the summer heat. Some examples would be Damianita or a Texas Lantana, which will both bring beautiful color to your yard as well.

6. Low-cost Hardscaping – Hardscaping can be a very expensive project in your backyard. One way to make it low-cost is to keep any bricks/stones leftover from previous projects or go to your local landscape store and buy their leftovers of any materials, which tend to be cheaper. You can place them together to create stepping stones, a walk-way or even an elevated garden section.

"We are so grateful to have found Sandcastle Homes! They’ve made the home-buying process so much easier and more enjoyable than we could have imagined. They are responsive, respectful, and always put the customer first. We truly appreciate the speed and accuracy with which they’ve addressed any concerns we’ve brought up throughout the process and can’t wait to officially own our first home. Sandcastle has a team that clearly values one another as much as they do their customers, and you can feel a sense of community when working with them."

"Sandcastle did an amazing job with my house. They came through on everything they promised. Jose Salas, the construction manager, is very helpful even after we closed on the house. He goes above and beyond. Getting to meet the owner, Salomon, during the closing was a great experience as many other builders don’t do this. We love our house and the quality of it!!"

"We just moved into our new home by Sandcastle. Since the beginning of the process the whole Sandcastle team paid great attention to our requests and responded rapidly. We were lucky to get in contract in time for us to choose colors, kitchen design, finishes and other and all our requests were reflected in our new house. At the end of the closing, the team always kept the same great attitude towards us and helped us with any question or request. We would say one of the greatest things about Sandcastle is that they really back up what they sell: best price, best service, best quality in town. We ended up extremely pleased with our new house."

"I just moved into my new Sandcastle home and I think it’s a wonderful place to live. They have been very helpful, particularly Lynette and Steve. From the owner Mike Salomen down, it has been a truly positive experience. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to buy a new home that is built of high quality to consider this home builder."
