Heading into November, we officially start the holiday season! There are so many events in Houston this time of year. Take a look below at some of these fun Houston holiday events going on to enjoy with friends and family!
The Nutcracker Market: November 9th – 12th
Reliant Center
Kick off the holiday season with this popular annual event! With over 250 merchants, shoppers can look at home decor, gourmet food, shoes, apparel and more. It’s even a great place to get an early start on your holiday shopping!
Zoo Lights: November 18th – January 15th
Houston Zoo
The Houston Zoo transforms the entire zoo into a winter wonderland with over two millions lights.
A Christmas Carol: November 17 – December 30th
Alley Theatre
Come watch the Alley Theatre perform the spectacular Charles Dickens’ classic story. For information on tickets, click here.
TXU Turkey Trot: November 23rd
The Plaza on Richmond
Races include 5K, 10K and a kid’s run. All proceeds from this event will go towards the families served by Neighborhood Centers.
Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade: November 23rd
Downtown Houston
Parade kicks off at 9am Thanksgiving morning and will start at Lamar/Smith and ends at Smith/Dallas. This year’s special guest include Simone Manuel and other special Olympic heroes. Viewing the parade will be free to all.
Sugar Land Holiday Lights: November 24th – January 1st
Constellation Field
Join Sugar Land’s 3rd annual Holiday Lights that features 2.5 million lights displayed, food trucks, children activities and over 100 walk through displays!
The Nutcracker Ballet: November 24th- December 28th
Wortham Theater Center

Christmas Village at Bayou Bend: December 15th – January 6th
Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens
Ima Hogg’s former house is decorated with holiday decorations, lights and performances, including Santa and his reindeer!
Santa Hustle: December 17th
Galveston
At this event in Galveston, runners can compete in a 5K or half marathon while dressed in Santa suits and beards.
